Why I Started Creating CTR Towels—and Why They Matter

As a mom of 5, I’ve watched each of my children prepare for baptism. It’s a milestone filled with excitement, testimony, and joy. But I often struggled to find a gift that felt just right—something that wasn’t just cute, but meaningful too.

That’s how the CTR towel was born.

I wanted something that could be used every day—but also something that would remind my children of their promises and their faith. A towel seemed simple, but when embroidered with CTR and their name, it became a sacred symbol of the choice they made to follow Christ.

Today, these towels are part of the products I offer in my shop. They’re stitched with love and a prayer that each child feels remembered and encouraged. Whether you’re a grandma, Primary president, or proud parent, I hope these gifts help you celebrate and remember the moments that matter most.

Finding Your Sacred Grove — Even in the Chaos

Finding Your Sacred Grove — Even in the Chaos

My chaos creators

As a mom, a business owner, and someone who just wants to stay close to the Lord, I’ve come to learn that my “Sacred Grove” doesn’t have to be somewhere deep in the woods. It can be at the kitchen sink. In the carpool line. On a walk around the block. Or even in my sewing room as I create something meaningful for someone I love.

Inspired by Joseph Smith’s First Vision, this idea of finding our own sacred place to connect with God is something that’s been pressing on my heart lately. So I made this video as a gentle reminder: 👇

In a world that’s constantly shouting for our attention, the Spirit still whispers. And sometimes, we have to intentionally quiet the noise to hear Him. That’s where our modern-day sacred groves come in.

How I Create Sacred Grove Moments in My Life

  • 🌅 Early morning scripture study with a hot cup of cocoa
  • 🎵 Listening to uplifting music while sewing or creating
  • 📖 Keeping a gratitude journal next to my sewing machine
  • 🙌 Whispered prayers while folding laundry or sweeping the floor

You Can Create Them Too

Your Sacred Grove doesn’t have to be fancy. It just has to be intentional. When we invite the Lord into our lives daily—He shows up. And He speaks peace, guidance, and love into the middle of our mess.

The Easiest Way to Make a Baby Rag Quilt

Rag quilting is one of the easiest and most beginner-friendly ways to create a beautiful, soft quilt for a baby. Whether you’re making one for your own little one or as a thoughtful handmade gift, this guide will walk you through the entire process!

Why Choose a Rag Quilt?

  • ✅ Perfect for beginners—no precise quilting skills required!
  • ✅ Soft, fluffy seams make it extra cozy.
  • ✅ Quick to sew—great for last-minute gifts.

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Flannel fabric in 2-3 coordinating colors.
  • Sharp fabric scissors or rotary cutter.
  • Basic sewing machine.
  • Thread and pins.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Cut your fabric into squares. You choose the size of squares and quantity depending on the size of quilt. To determine how many squares you need minus 1 inch from the size of square you are using and divide it by the size of quilt you're wanting. (5" squares and a 40" square quilt gives you 10 squares by 10 squares {5-1=4. 40/4=10})
  2. Layer two squares together and stitch an X across them to secure.
  3. Join squares with a ½” seam allowance, leaving edges exposed.
  4. Once the quilt top is assembled, snip along the raw edges every ¼” to create the rag effect.
  5. Wash and dry the quilt—this softens and frays the edges beautifully!

The Best is Yet to Come: A Reminder of Hope, Faith, and Christ’s Love

Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges at us. Some days, the weight of uncertainty, trials, and waiting can feel overwhelming. But as believers, we hold onto a promise—the best is yet to come. This phrase is more than just words; it’s a powerful reminder that God’s plan is greater than our current struggles.

A Visual Reminder of Christ’s Love

When we designed the Best is Yet to Come Magnet, we wanted it to be more than just decor. The engraved Christus standing above the words symbolizes that no matter what we go through, Christ stands at the center, leading us forward. It’s a small but powerful token of faith, perfect for placing somewhere you’ll see daily—on your fridge, desk, or mirror—where it can remind you to trust in Him.

Why This Message Matters

There are moments in life when we feel stuck. Maybe it’s waiting for an answer to a prayer, hoping for a miracle, or just struggling with everyday hardships. It’s easy to let doubt and fear creep in. But scripture teaches us that God’s plan is always unfolding, and we are never alone in the journey:

📖 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." – Proverbs 3:5

God sees the full picture. While we may not always understand His timing, we can trust that He is guiding us toward something greater. The best is yet to come—because Christ is leading the way.

How Studying Holy Week Deepened My Understanding of Christ

Easter Was Always Special, But I Wanted More

I’ve always loved Easter. The hymns, the hope, the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. But for years, I felt like I was missing something. I wanted to understand, not just celebrate.

I realized I was skipping over the depth and weight of Holy Week—the week leading up to Easter.

It’s easy to jump to the joy of Resurrection Sunday, but I wanted to truly grasp what Christ experienced, what He taught, and how it all connects. That’s when I decided to study His final days—one scripture at a time.

What I Learned from Studying Holy Week

I started reading the Gospels chronologically, cross-referencing events across Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. That’s when everything clicked. Each Gospel brings a unique perspective, and when studied together, it creates a complete, powerful picture of Christ’s final days.

📖 Some of the biggest insights I gained:
Christ’s teachings in His final week were intentional – He knew His time was short, and every word carried eternal weight.
The suffering in Gethsemane was deeply personal – Seeing it across the Gospels made me realize He truly “descended below all things.”
The resurrection wasn’t just an event—it was a promise.

As I studied, I felt something shift in my heart. I wasn’t just reading about Christ’s final days—I was experiencing them.

Make This Holy Week Different

If you’ve ever wanted to dive deeper into Holy Week, the Holy Week Countdown is an incredible resource. It takes the approach I used—cross-referencing scripture—but makes it even easier, breaking it into bite-sized daily readings so you can truly grasp the last week of Jesus’ life, day by day.
